Grand Valley Challenge Course

The Grand Valley Challenge Course (GVCC) is a ropes course with both low and high elements located at the Garfield 16 Administrative Building in Battlement Mesa. In 2017, District students and staff came together to plan the project and the course was completed and opened for use in 2019. Construction of the GVCC was made possible by collaboration between Garfield County School District 16 and Parachute/Battlement Mesa Park and Recreation District and support from Garfield County Federal Mineral Lease District.

Interested in scheduling a program at the course?

Please contact the Garfield 16 Outdoor Education Coordinator, Ari Philipson, at aphilipson@garfiled16.org | 970-285-5118 and complete the GV Challenge Course Needs Assessment linked below to get things rolling.

Group programming is dependent on facilitator availability and prioritizes educational groups when scheduling. Unfortunately, GVCC does not allow private groups, such as birthday parties, at this time.
